Douglas Electric Cooperative has temporarily closed its lobby to customers.
Member Services Director Todd Munsey said the utility’s top priority is to maintain the health and safety of its members. He said they also need to ensure that employees continue providing reliable electricity and other business-critical operations without interruption. Munsey said though the lobby is closed, representatives will still be available by phone or email during regular business hours. Online payment can be made by going to www.dec.coop.
Munsey said he knows the move will be an inconvenience and doesn’t like the forced separation from its members, but until the current crisis passes, it is the safest thing to do. He said if there is a situation that can’t be solved over the phone, call the office at 673-6616 and staff will set up an appointment.
