Public access to fire stations in Douglas County Fire District No.2 and the Winston-Dillard Fire District is now limited.
An identical release from both organizations said that the level of service each district provides has not changed due to the COVID-19 situation. Firefighters will continue to respond to all emergencies.
Effective immediately both departments are limiting access to the fire stations to outside visitors. Residents with business needs have to call the business office to schedule an appointment prior to visiting any fire station. For District No.2 the number is 673-5503. For the Winston-Dillard District, the number is 679-8721.
Both districts have discontinued fire inspections and unscheduled business inspections. The release said the precautions are being put in place for both the firefighters and the public.
