The Roseburg Dream Center is closed until next Monday.
Organizer Christopher Hutton said along with periodically being open as a Warming Shelter, the facility, located at Foundation Fellowship on Lane Street in downtown Roseburg, offers other services as well.
Hutton said that includes a food pantry that is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Dream Center also gives out clothing on Tuesdays and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. A drop-in center is normally open Monday’s through Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Hutton said people are able to get out of the elements and have breakfast and lunch.
But effective Monday, out of an abundance of caution and for the safety and well being of the community, Hutton said they are closed as they establish precautionary measures so they can minimize the chance of exposure and spread of COVID-19.
Hutton said right now he doesn’t know what services will be available next week. He is looking at providing pre-boxed food boxes and meals to go. He said the situation is very fluid and recommended procedures are changing daily.
Hutton said members of the homeless community are greatly affected by the confusion and rapid changes everyone is experiencing
