The local COVID-19 call center is open, offered by Douglas County government and the Douglas Public Health Network.
Residents are urged to utilize the call center for COVID-19 related questions and concerns, instead of calling 911. The center is staffed with volunteer health care professionals who can answer questions from the public. It is available from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is open seven days a week.
Douglas County Health Official, Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said “community support in the time of crisis is paramount”. He said officials are thankful for a number of organizations and medical professionals that have stepped up to volunteer and man the phones at the call center. That includes Evergreen Family Medicine, the Southern Oregon Chapter of the American Red Cross, AVIVA Health, the Umpqua Health Alliance, DCIPA, and CHI Mercy Medical, along with the Boys & Girls Club of the Umpqua Valley.
The COVID-19 call center number is 464-6550.
