The Roseburg City Council Work Study Session scheduled for Monday afternoon has been cancelled.
Councilors had been set to have a roundtable discussion regarding the issues of homelessness within the community. Staff was to report on research they had done on efforts by other cities. The next steps in the process were to be considered as well.
Staff told News Radio 1240 KQEN that the decision to cancel the meeting was made by Mayor Larry Rich. Rich said since schools were closing, the City should take the same precautions with social distancing and not have the meeting. Staff said the next regular meeting is still set to be held March 23rd unless the City is told to cancel it.
