ONE PERSON HOSPITALIZED FOLLOWING CRASH IN GREEN

One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash in Green on Monday afternoon.,
A report from Oregon State Police said at 5:10 p.m. a 67-year old man from Portland was attempting to enter the eastbound lanes of travel on Highway 42 from Landers Avenue. The report said the vehicle pulled out directly in front of another sedan, which was headed westbound. The driver of the second vehicle, a 33-year old Winston woman, was taken to Mercy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. She was treated and released according to a hospital spokesperson.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene.
The driver who caused the wreck was cited for careless driving. Afternoon commute traffic was slowed for a time while emergency responders dealt with the scene.
