A Myrtle Creek woman was hurt following a single vehicle high speed crash on Interstate Five southbound, on Monday afternoon.
Information from Oregon State Police said at about 2:30 p.m. the 51-year old driver lost control of her sedan while just south of Roberts Mountain. The report said the woman admitted to passing two vehicles at a high rate of speed. Her vehicle veered off the left shoulder of the roadway after cutting off two vehicles, according to the report. The sedan struck a dirt embankment and came to rest in a drainage ditch. Witnesses told the trooper that the driver had been going in and out of traffic and had been making unsafe lane changes.
The report said the driver showed signs of impairment. She was arrested for DUII controlled substance and for reckless driving. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene.
