TWO JUVENILES HOSPITALIZED AFTER WRECK

Two juveniles were hospitalized after a wreck took place in the Azalea area on Monday night.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just after 6:00 p.m. a deputy responded to the report of a vehicle versus dirt bike accident in the 500 block of Russell Creek Road. The male juveniles, ages 15 and 11, had lower body injuries that did not appear to be life threatening at the scene.
The report said the service truck involved was headed down a hill and the two males came up the road at a high rate of speed. Once they saw each other, both hit the brakes. That caused the dirt bike to basically swap ends as it impacted the front of the truck with the back tire first.
The juveniles were taken to a Medford hospital. The service truck driver, a 21-year old man from Merlin, was not impaired and was not injured.
