WOMAN JAILED AFTER INCIDENT AT HOSPITAL

A Roseburg woman was jailed following an incident at Mercy Medical Center on Monday.
A report from Roseburg Police said just after 8:30 a.m. 58-year old Joann Welsh allegedly refused to leave the hospital after refusing medical attention. Officers contacted her at the main entrance, where she reportedly continued to refuse to leave or receive care. When officers attempted to arrest her, she allegedly fought against being handcuffed and placed in a patrol car. The report said during the incident, she was screaming and causing alarm to multiple people in the waiting room and the parking lot.
She was charged with second degree counts of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, interfering with a police officer and resisting arrest. After arraignment, she was held on $20,000 bail.
