TRANSIENT JAILED, FOUND WITH ALLEGEDLY STOLEN VEHICLE

A transient was jailed, accused of driving a stolen vehicle on Monday afternoon.
A report from the Myrtle Creek Police said just before 2:00 p.m. an employee at Ray’s Food Place called in to report a probable drug transaction between two subjects in separate vehicles, in the store’s parking lot. It was determined that one of the vehicle’s was stolen out of Dallas, Oregon. An officer arrived and detained both drivers.
28-year old Mitchell Richmond said he “borrowed” the vehicle from someone that he did not know. The report said he also had a shaved key for the vehicle. Officers also reportedly located a user amount of heroin in the suspect’s possession.
Richmond was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful possession of heroin and for a parole violation. He was detained without bail.
