Officers with the Winston Police are seeking a male suspect following a chase that took place on Sunday night.
A WPD report said just after 10:00 p.m. an officer attempted to pull over a car for speeding and for failure to maintain a lane. The vehicle did not yield so a pursuit began. The report said the vehicle traveled down several streets for three minutes before crashing into a ditch, the result of one of its rear tires going flat. The vehicle was not spiked.
That crash took place in the area of Winston Section Road and Thompson. The suspect then fled on foot into the surrounding area. Troopers with Oregon State Police, deputies with the Douglas County Sheriffs Office and a DCSO K9 attempted to track the suspect but was not successful.
The report said the suspect is still at large, but there is no threat to the community. The investigation is ongoing. No further information was provided by Winston Police.
