A Roseburg man was jailed after trying to elude police on Wednesday.
A report from the Roseburg Police said at about 2:30 p.m.an officer tried to stop a vehicle that had no plates, near the corner of Stewart Parkway and Airport Road. 41-year old Gary Martin, allegedly tried to elude instead. The report said Martin continued driving to the Newton Creek area, where several officers and detectives were working on another case. He parked at a residence on Laurel Springs and was detained by those officers.
Martin was charged with attempting to elude police in a vehicle, for reckless driving and for a probation violation. He was detained without bail.
