Tickets are still available for the Gala & Dance Competition, presented by Battered Persons Advocacy.
The 9th annual event is sponsored by CHI Mercy Health and takes place Saturday at Seven Feathers Casino Resort.
Each year community members with all levels of dance experience, or with none, join a team to learn a performance with one of BPA’s coaches. Dance styles include ballroom, salsa, western line dancing, jazz funk and disco. Along with the dance performances, dinner is served as well.
Some of the money raised goes to provide funding to BPA overall. A special Paddle Raise segment has the goal of raising $40,000 to kick off a capital campaign to purchase a building that will house survivors of violence and be a place to hold meetings and other support services.
Tickets for the 21 and over event are $75 per person. It runs from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Go to www.bpadancecompetition.com to purchase tickets.
