Government offices are closed Monday for the Washington’s Birthday holiday, also known as Presidents’ Day.
Federal, state, county, and city offices will not be open. Regular mail will not be delivered. Schools are closed as are banks and credit unions. The stock market is closed as well.
Washington’s Birthday is a federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February, in accordance with the Uniform Holiday’s Act of 1971, to honor George Washington, the first president of the United States. He was born on February 22, 1732. The day is now widely referred to as Presidents’ Day, to honor all who have served as president.
