The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is honoring hospitalized veterans at VA medical centers, clinics and facilities nationwide through Saturday, during National Salute to Veteran Patients.
In Roseburg, Voluntary Services is delivering a variety of Valentine’s Day gifts, including blankets, cards, pillows and pillowcases, to its in-patient veterans on Friday, according to a release from the Roseburg VA Health Care System. It said the annual observation gives all Americans the chance to thank the more than 9 million veterans who receive care from the VA through volunteering and creating Valentine’s cards.
