A Roseburg man was jailed on drug, weapons and other charges on Friday.
Information from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said shortly before 2:00 p.m. 32-year old Austin Clark was contacted for trespassing on the train tracks at Amacher Park. The report said he attempted to conceal his identify and walked away from deputies.
As deputies approached the man, he continued to walk away and put his hands in his pockets. Moments later as he was walking towards the river, he allegedly threw a bright orange plastic bottle towards the river, according to the report.
Deputies detained Clark in handcuffs and advised him of his rights. During a search of the man, deputies reportedly found a knife concealed in his waistband. The report said that inside the orange bottle was a crystal substance which tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 2.6 grams.
Clark was initially charged with unlawful possession of meth, possession of a concealed weapon, trespass, and for offensive littering. He was released from custody on Monday.
