A partnership between the Douglas Education Service District, Roseburg School District, Blue Zones Project Umpqua and Roseburg Cinema is giving local educators the opportunity to learn more about Conscious Discipline in a unique environment.
An ESD release said educators across the county are participating in the ongoing professional development series at Roseburg Cinema that includes video screenings and the opportunity to discuss real classroom experiences. The training videos are being offered once a month over the school year to further local work in trauma-informed care.
The release said Conscious Discipline is an innovative social-emotional learning and classroom experience with a proven track record of sustainable results. Schools across the county are increasingly incorporating the program into classrooms to help improve student well-being and learning, according to the release.
