A Winston man was jailed on drug and firearms charges on Tuesday, while another man was cited.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 3:15 p.m. a deputy stopped a 28-year old man in the 100 block of Northwest Douglas Boulevard in Winston for traffic violations. The report said the deputy developed reasonable suspicion to call a K9 to the scene.
A K9 alerted on the vehicle and a search revealed two firearms in the center console along with small amounts of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. An 18-year passenger in the vehicle was allegedly found to have a scale with drug residue in his pocket.
The driver, Tyler Bryant was jailed for being a felon in possession of a firearm, for unlawful possession of a firearm and for unlawful possession of meth. He was initially held on $112,500 bail. The passenger was booked and released.
