TRUCK CONVOYS COULD AFFECT STATE HIGHWAYS ON THURSDAY

February 5, 2020 4:00 a.m.
Travelers should expect increased traffic on state highways in southwestern Oregon on Thursday as truck convoys are being organized around the state for a rally in Salem.
That is the word from Gary Warner of the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Warner said a similar event last year brought hundreds of trucks to the Capitol.
Warner said rally organizers have scheduled convoys to travel northbound on Interstate Five through Jackson, Josephine and Douglas counties between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Another convoy is scheduled to depart from Coos County and head eastbound on Oregon 42 at 2:00 a.m.
The rally in Salem is scheduled to conclude at 4:00 p.m. Trucks traveling southbound on Interstate Five and westbound on Oregon 42 could affect evening traffic, according to the ODOT release.

The rally is being organized by TimberUnity.
