Two people were taken to an area hospital after the vehicle they were in wrecked on Interstate Five on Sunday.
Information from the Oregon State Police said at about 3:30 p.m. one northbound sedan was struck by another when the first driver lost control on the icy road about a mile from the Scotts Valley and Elkhead exit. A hail storm had just been reported in that area. The driver of the second vehicle and a passenger in the first vehicle were both injured.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. No citations were apparently issued.
A few other accidents were reported in that area in a short period of time, all likely related to the hail storm.
