The City of Roseburg Parks and Recreation Department will have a community meeting to discuss a potential trail system at Sunshine Park on Wednesday February 12th.
That meeting will be held at the Roseburg Public Library at 6:00 p.m.
Parks Program Manager Kris Ammerman said “Sunshine Park is a recreational gem”. He said the City wants to enhance the park’s offerings by developing a trail system that hikers, bikers, and walkers can enjoy. He said staff is looking forward to hearing feedback from the public on this possible step towards improving Sunshine Park’s recreational opportunities.
City staff, working with a trail construction firm, have drafted design concepts for a trail system located on approximately 40 acres of land at the park. At the meeting, staff will discuss designs and gather input from those attending.
Sunshine Park, located close to five miles from downtown Roseburg, is a 90-acre park with two baseball fields, three softball fields, two picnic pavilions and a playground. It was developed in 2001.
