Snow levels are already plunging to the valley floors and will stay low through Sunday night.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service have a Winter Weather Advisory in place through 4:00 a.m. Monday. The advisory area includes parts of central Douglas County and the eastern Douglas County foothills, Josephine and Jackson counties and eastern Curry County.
Snow is expected for nearly the entire area. Cold temperatures will follow into early in the week. Ice could easily develop on any wet roads. Snow accumulations of a trace to two inches are forecast for area valleys, with three to five inches above 2,000 feet. The lowest amounts will be on the valley floors.
The snow is expected generally above 700 feet including in Camas Valley, Tiller and Glendale. This also includes much of the Interstate Five corridor, especially over the passes and portions of highways 42, 138, 62, 199 and 140.
Travel could become difficult due to low visibility and slick roadways at higher elevations and along steeper slopes. Use www.tripcheck.com to monitor road conditions.
