WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SUNDAY

January 31, 2020 3:00 p.m.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service have placed a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for much of Sunday around a wide area of the region.
A cold front is expected to push into the area this weekend with snow levels forecast to plunge to the valley floors Sunday morning through Sunday night in some locations. Snow is expected for parts of central Douglas County, the eastern Douglas County foothills, along with Jackson and Josephine counties and eastern Curry County. Glendale, Camas Valley, and Tiller are among those locations anticipating snow.
Accumulations will range from a trace up to two inches for valley areas, with three to five inches of snow forecast for above 2,000 feet. This includes much of the Interstate Five corridor, and portions of highways 42, 38, 138, 199 and 140.
Travel Sunday could become difficult due to low visibility and slick roadways. Cold temperatures will follow into next week and ice could easily develop on any wet roads.
The Winter Weather Advisory runs from 4:00 a.m. Sunday to midnight.
