A Winter Weather Advisory for Crater Lake, Diamond Lake and the south central and south Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains is in place until 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said moderate snow is expected above 5,000 feet. The snow level is forecast to fall to around 4,500 feet in the afternoon. Total accumulations of 6 to 9 inches are anticipated with winds gusting to 45 miles per hour.
Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. Motorists should carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities. Go to www.tripcheck.com to monitor road conditions before traveling in the advisory areas.
