Applications are still being accepted for the vacant Ward 2 seat on the Roseburg City Council.
The position is open following the recent resignation of long-time councilor Tom Ryan. Roseburg residents of Ward 2 have until next Friday January 31st to submit an application.
To apply, residents can fill out a form by visiting the administration office on the third floor at City Hall. Applicants can also download the form at www.cityofroseburg.org or request one by emailing: info@cityofroseburg.org.
Two residents turned in applications so far. They are Mike Baker and Sheila Cox. Baker served on the council in the past and moved last year into Ward Two, according to city staff. Cox is the former City Recorder. She retired in 2018.
The city is also seeking residents to join the Budget Committee. The group oversees and reviews the proposed annual operating budget and any supplemental budgets. Starting in the spring, the committee works with city staff to construct budget recommendations for the council. There are currently three vacancies on the Budget Committee. The positions are open until they are filled. Contact the City of Roseburg for more information.
