A Roseburg man has died following a hit and run accident earlier in the week.
Friday evening Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said DCSO had been notified that 46-year old Bruce Galindo had succumbed to his injuries.
The victim was on a motorized scooter in the 5000 block of Northeast Stephens Wednesday evening just before 9:00 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle that then left the scene. A 911 call alerted DCSO to the incident and when deputies arrived, they found the man lying in the roadway suffering from critical injuries. Galindo was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center before being taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield where he was listed in critical condition.
O’Dell said the driver involved in the incident, and the vehicle, earlier described as being a later model white Mazda 3, were identified on Thursday. O’Dell said the investigation is ongoing.
