January 16, 2020 3:30 p.m.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7:00 p.m. for central Douglas County and for higher elevations nearby.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said in central Douglas County an additional accumulation of up to two inches of snow is expected down to 1,000 feet. That will affect the south-central portion of the county including Interstate Five south of Canyonville and Oregon 227 south of Tiller.
For the eastern Douglas County foothills, Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, the south-central and southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains, an accumulation of an additional two to four inches of snow may fall.  This includes all of the state highways crossing the Cascades, and Interstate Five near the Siskiyou Summit.
Travel could still be difficult to impossible in some areas while the Advisory is in effect.
