A power outage impacted parts of Douglas County on Wednesday.
Sam Carter, Regional Business Manager for Pacific Power, said the utility experienced a loss of transmission due to a tree falling on two phases of a transmission line, approximately two miles from the Dixonville substation. It affected just over 10,000 customers in the Green, Myrtle Creek and Winston areas starting just after 11:00 a.m.
Carter said all customers had their power back by just after 12:15 p.m. but some were restored before that as switching operations were performed. Carter said the hazard was removed and no further outages are expected from this issue.
More than 1,200 customers of the utility in Roseburg were without power for part of Wednesday evening as well. The outage took place around 7:45 p.m. and was blamed on faulty equipment, according to the News Review. All but a few customers had their power back by 10:30 p.m.
