COUPLE ARRESTED AFTER POLICE CHASE

A couple was arrested after a police chase in Myrtle Creek Tuesday night.
A report from the Myrtle Creek Police said at about 8:00 p.m. an officer observed a vehicle on North Pacific Highway and attempted to stop it for a violation. The driver, 43-year old Michael Batson attempted to elude. The pursuit ended on Sonja Court when the driver ran from the officer on foot, but was captured.
The report said while chasing the man, his wife, Suzette, got out of the vehicle and hid behind a parked vehicle. She was also located and taken into custody.
Michael Batson was charged with attempting to elude in a vehicle and on foot, and for warrants that were out for his arrest. He was also held for a parole violation and was detained without bail.
The woman was held for a warrant but was released from custody later that night.
