A Winter Weather Advisory for mountain areas in southern Oregon begins late Wednesday afternoon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said snow is expected above 2,000 feet for the eastern Douglas County foothills, south-central and southern Oregon Cascades, and the Siskiyou Mountains along with Diamond Lake. Total snow accumulations of up to six inches are expected with winds gusting to 40 miles per hour over high exposed terrain.
Forecasters said travel could be very difficult to impossible. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destinations, carry tire chains, and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
The Advisory runs from 4:00 p.m. Wednesday to 4:00 p.m. Thursday.
