A Winter Weather Advisory and a Winter Storm Warning have been updated, impacting much of southern Oregon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said two more systems will impact the region through Tuesday. Snow levels will fall to near the valley floor level Monday night. Snow will continue to accumulate on Tuesday before tapering off Tuesday evening.
For central Douglas County the Advisory remains in effect until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday. Four to eight inches of snow is forecast down to 1,500 feet Monday night into Tuesday morning. This includes Tiller and the Interstate Five passes south of Canyonville.
For Crater Lake, Diamond Lake and the south-central Oregon Cascades, an additional one to two feet of snow is expected with winds gusting to 55 miles per hour over exposed terrain. Travel will be very difficult to impossible at higher elevations. Patchy blowing snow is expected to significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down trees and result in power outages. The Winter Storm Warning is also in place until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday
Forecasters said travel is discouraged because of dangerous conditions.
