The Roseburg Public Library will celebrate its one-year anniversary on Thursday night.
Director Kris Wiley said the event will kick off with a videoconferencing session with best selling children’s author Chris Grabenstein, whose smash hit “Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library” is set in a newly opened library. Wiley said there will also be brief remarks from local officials followed by music from the Umpqua Singers and an activity and crafts for all ages.
Wiley said since the Roseburg Public Library opened in December of 2018, more than 5,000 library cards have been issued, 9,500 people have attended 255 special events and more than 100,000 visits have been logged.
The evening is free and open to the public. Call 492-7051 for details.
