A Myrtle Creek man was found by a police K9 on Tuesday, after he ran from deputies.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said two deputies arrived at property in the 300 block of Weaver Avenue to look for a vehicle that had allegedly been stolen and to contact the man suspected of taking it. The report said as deputies approached, 30-year old Colten Allen ran into a shop and hid for the next four hours.
After a search warrant was granted, K9 Zoro located Allen who was hiding in a small closet. The man was taken into custody without incident.
He was initially charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, escape, interfering with a police officer and for a probation violation. He was detained just before 2:00 p.m. and was held without bail.
