A Roseburg man was arrested for two counts of theft by Roseburg Police on Monday.
The RPD report said an officer took a theft report at 10:00 a.m. where 36-year old Nicholas Tompkins was allegedly on surveillance stealing car batteries from a lot on Southeast Stephens. A short time later the officer responded to a call of a theft in progress at Home Depot.
The same man was identified as the suspect. He was charged with second degree theft in both cases, and also for a parole violation. He was detained without bail.
