U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley will begin his first series of town hall meetings for the new year, in Douglas County on Thursday.
The local meeting will be held in the Sutherlin High School gym, starting at 10:00 a.m. A release from Merkley said he will update constituents on his work in Washington D.C. as well as answer questions and take comments about the challenges facing Oregon and the United States.
Since joining the Senate in 2009, Merkley has held a town hall in each of Oregon’s 36 counties every year. The Sutherlin event will be Merkley’s 397th town hall as a U.S. Senator.
Merkley will have eleven town halls around Oregon between Thursday and Sunday.
He will begin Thursday by appearing on the Morning Conversation at 8:30 a.m. on News Radio 1240 KQEN.
