Two men have been arrested as a result of a burglary investigation by the Myrtle Creek Police.
Detective Kevin Taggart told News Radio 1240 KQEN that on December 20th a burglary was reported in the 100 block of Southeast Perra Street. He said numerous items were taken. An investigation led to the arrest of 26-year old Brady Monahan on Tuesday just before 7:00 a.m. The suspect was contacted while sleeping in his vehicle. He was initially charged with conspiracy to commit a Class A felony, first degree theft, tampering with evidence, and for being in possession of heroin. He was detained on $311,250 bail.
Taggart told KQEN the investigation continued and on Thursday just after 7:00 a.m. a search warrant was served in the 800 block of Vine Maple Drive. 29-year old Kevin Heintz was allegedly found to be in possession of numerous stolen items along with heroin and methamphetamine. His initial charges included first degree burglary, conspiracy to commit a Class A felony, first degree theft, tampering with evidence, possession of stolen property, endangering the welfare of a minor and for unlawful possession of both drugs. Bail was set at $762,500.
Taggart said the investigation is ongoing.
