A Wolf Creek woman was arrested for stealing a vehicle on Monday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the victim reported that 23-year old Tesla Jinks had stolen his pickup the previous morning at about 8:00 a.m. The victim said he had offered the suspect and an unknown man a ride to the area of Starveout Creek in the Azalea area but no one was home where he took them. They continued to another residence in the area where the victim got out of his vehicle and walked into the home. He said the suspect immediately started the pickup back up and took off with it. The victim hoped the suspect was just using it to get cigarettes before coming back, but that was not the case.
At about 4:30 p.m. a deputy saw the vehicle pull into the parking lot of Seven Feathers Casino in Canyonville. Jinks was taken into custody without incident.
Jinks was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle and for driving while suspended. Bail was initially set at $50,000.
