NEARLY 400 CUSTOMERS WITHOUT POWER IN COASTAL AREAS

Covering Coastal Douglas County:
High winds and heavy rain have led to some power outages near the coast.
Todd Munsey of Douglas Electric Cooperative said the original outage was restored Friday morning at 4:00 a.m. He said it was caused by a tree that had fallen through power lines. Currently close to 400 members are without power. This includes homes along Scholfield Road, Deans Creek, North Tenmile Lake and some along Highway 38. Munsey said some properties in the North Tenmile Lake area are only accessible by boat.
Additional crews have been called in to assist those already working. There is no estimate as to when the power will be restored.
