MAN JAILED AFTER ASSAULT INCIDENT

A Roseburg man was jailed following a reported assault incident on Wednesday night.
A report from the Roseburg Police said at about 11:00 p.m. officers were called to the 400 block of West Maple Street. The report said 67-year old Bruce Pyle and a female victim were involved in a physical disturbance. Pyle allegedly strangled the victim and hit her in the head with a blunt object that caused her serious physical injury. The woman required transportation to a hospital so her injuries could be treated.
Pyle left the scene but was found later at a home in Winston. He was charged with second degree assault and for strangulation. Bail was initially set at $256,250
