FREEWAY DELAYS EXPECTED THURSDAY NIGHT

December 19, 2019 9:10 a.m.
Motorists on Interstate Five should expect delays Thursday night due to rock scaling work.
Dan Latham of the Oregon Department of Transportation said rolling slowdowns will be used in both directions of the freeway between 7:00 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Friday.
Latham said in the southbound direction, pilot cars will lead freeway traffic on a low-speed approach from the Winchester area through Roseburg. Flaggers will hold traffic at each southbound on-ramp from the Del Rio/Winchester interchange to McLain Avenue.
Northbound rolling slowdowns will begin north of Myrtle Creek, with flaggers holding on-ramp traffic from the Boomer Hill Road exit to McLain Avenue.
Latham said most of the rock scaling work will take place on the west side of Interstate Five, near the McLain Avenue interchange.
