Applications are now being accepted for the 2020 Citizen’s Law Enforcement Academy.
Sergeant Jeff Eichenbusch of the Roseburg Police Department said next year’s Academy will have 14 sessions between April 2nd and June 11th.
Eichenbusch said the course is designed to provide residents of the community with an inside look at the world of law enforcement. Classes normally run on Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. though there are a few classes on Saturdays, and one event on a Sunday. Classes are taught by Roseburg Police officers or by deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
There is no charge to attend the classes but due to high demand and limited space, those who apply are asked to commit to attending most of the classes.
