Sutherlin Police arrested a man after tasing him on Monday.
Captain Kurt Sorensen said 36-year old Derek Sulffridge had a warrant out for his arrest and was contacted as a passenger in a traffic stop at the corner of North State and Sixth Avenue at about 12:15 p.m. Sorenson said the suspect refused to get out of the vehicle and did not comply with commands so the taser was deployed.
Sulffridge was charged with first degree assault along with seven other counts. He was detained on $56,250 bail.
