DRIVER HURT, VEHICLE ROLLS AT WINCHESTER BAY

The driver was hurt when a Jeep rolled at Winchester Bay on Sunday afternoon.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 5:00 p.m. a report came in from the 18-year old passenger in the Jeep. He said the driver, a 65-year old man from Eagle Point, was playing with his new vehicle near the 1700 block of Salmon Harbor Drive and went up a hill that was a little too steep. Once it got to the point of no return, the driver turned the Jeep and it rolled about 4 times down the face of the dune.
The report said the driver had severe back and shoulder pain and was transported to Lower Umpqua Hospital for treatment. The passenger did not complain of any pain, according to the report.
