A two-vehicle wreck took place on Highway 38 near Elkton on Saturday afternoon.
A report from the Oregon State Police said at about 5:15 p.m. the driver of a pickup, a 57-year old woman from Elkton, had stopped just off the roadway and was getting mail on the left shoulder facing westbound. The driver of a car, a 40-year old man from Drain, was east bound in the dark and saw the headlights of the other vehicle. The report said the driver thought he needed to drive to the right of the headlights, so drove into the ditch and hit the pickup.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. A group of mail boxes plus a bus stop shelter were damaged in the crash.
