SHOP WITH A COP IS SATURDAY

December 11, 2019 3:50 a.m.
The annual “Shop with a Cop” will be held at the Roseburg Walmart this Saturday.
From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. uniformed officers and support staff from local law enforcement agencies will be volunteering their time to help provide a brighter Christmas for 29 foster children in Douglas County.
Organizers said the selected foster children will be paired up with a police officer and given the money to buy Christmas gifts for their families. The officers help the children pick out the gifts and then help wrap them. Prior to leaving the store, each child is given their own gift and a stocking filled with goodies from Santa.
Shop with a Cop is fully funded from local donations. Their release said they would like to thank Christmas for Kids of Douglas County for their “generous donations” to make this event possible.
Law enforcement agencies participating include the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, police departments in Roseburg, Sutherlin, Winston and Myrtle Creek, and the Oregon State Police along with Douglas County Community Corrections.
