A Roseburg man was jailed for a felony charge of strangulation and for harassment on Thursday night.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office just after 11:50 p.m. deputies responded to a residence in the 5400 block of Garden Valley Road. The report said the suspect was allegedly horse playing with two juvenile victims which consisted of wrestling when things escalated and got out of hand. 48-year old Mark Bartlett reportedly strangled one juvenile twice, using his own hood from a hoody sweatshirt. The victim said it affected his ability to breathe. The second juvenile said Bartlett punched her in the nose, causing her eyes to water.
Three other witnesses at the home backed up the alleged sequence of events.
Bartlett was initially detained on $52,500 bail.
