A Reedsport woman died in a crash on Highway 38 on Monday morning.
A report from Oregon State Police said at 8:20 a.m. troopers and emergency personnel received a report of the wreck in the Scottsburg area. The driver, 38-year old Allison Morgan apparently failed to negotiate a turn. Her vehicle crossed over the oncoming west bound lane, drove off the roadway and collided with a large oak tree head-on. Morgan was pronounced deceased at the scene. Witnesses estimated the car she was driving was traveling in excess of 60 miles per hour when it collided with the tree.
OSP was assisted at the accident scene by several agencies.
