MAN HURT IN CAR VERSUS BIKE ACCIDENT

A Roseburg man was hurt in a car versus bicycle accident on Friday night.
Information from the Roseburg Police said just before 10:00 p.m. 24-year old Forrest Breitwieser was riding his bike westbound in the bike lane on Oak Street, which is a one-way street traveling eastbound. The report said a 45-year old Roseburg motorist had stopped on Spruce and then proceeded to drive across Oak when the rider hit the front passenger side quarter panel of the vehicle, causing his bike to crash.
Breitwieser was taken to Mercy Medical Center before being transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield where he is listed in good condition at last check, according to a hospital spokesperson.
The cyclist was cited for improper use of a bike lane.
