The Roseburg High School Foundation has set the award amounts for the future First Citizen Scholarships.
Earlier in November the group announced that it would take over the awards, after no awards were given out earlier this year. The program had been part of the Roseburg Area Chamber of Commerce First Citizen awards banquet for many years.
Foundation President Brian Prawitz told News Radio 1240 KQEN that this week the board voted to make the first place Future First Citizen scholarship award $10,000. Prawitz said the other four finalists will receive $4,000 each. The awards are given to seniors at RHS.
Prawitz said the awards will be given out at the RHS Foundation Scholarship Banquet March 17th. Applications will be available at the RHS Career Center beginning December 16th. Other information will be coming at a later date, according to Prawitz.
