A holiday book drive to help spread literacy in Douglas County is underway.
Knotty Lady Yarns and the Kitchen Sink in downtown Roseburg are organizing the effort along with the Discovery Club 4-H group, to collect new and gently used books for the Umpqua Valley Disabilities Network’s literacy program. Books can be dropped off at either store, or at the Umpqua Valley Disabilities Network office, all on Jackson Street.
Donations need to be received by December 14th.
Kelly Trinchero, owner of Knotty Lady Yarns and the Kitchen Sink, talked about the project on the Morning Conversation Tuesday on News Radio 1240 KQEN. That interview is a KQEN podcast at www.541radio.com
